There was a failed attempt to watch this film when I visited Al and Dex earlier in the year. It was found on a *ahem* "questionable" website since it had just been released to theaters. Yeah, it was basically from some person in Asia with a camcorder in a theater. No thank you. I'm glad I waited because I was able to fully enjoy the movie in glorious Blu-ray, our first DVD in this format. I just never saw the need to upgrade from standard DVD format. Then I saw that players were so ridiculously cheap at Costco (like $70), and thought I would buy one. Then Kitty mentioned it to a friend who had one just sitting around her house. She gave it to us! Oy! Kosher Blu-ray player! So we christened it yesterday. Combined with our new UHD TV, it was stunning! I immediately upgraded our Netflix account to get Blu-ray discs when available. And now for my review of the movie. When I first saw the trailer I did something of a facepaw because I thought it was going to be a cheap ripoff combination of "Zootopia" and "American Idol"/"The Voice". Then I started hearing some very positive reviews including one from mondhasen last week. I will add my favorable opinion to the list. I might also go as far as to commit furry blasphemy and say that it was on par with "Zootopia" in terms of storytelling in an anthropomorphic world. I really enjoyed it. I'm surprised it hasn't received more positive furry buzz. I especially loved the Kawaii fox girls (or perhaps they were red pandas). So if you haven't seen it yet, give it a watch.
