The good stuff

Despite the b.s. that happened on the ride home yesterday, there was a highlight that I promised I would mention. Just south of Chama there are some massive 2,000'+ vertical cliffs. Every Spring when the snow starts to melt, a waterfall on par with Yosemite Falls forms for a brief period of time. 2 years ago during the worst drought on record, the falls lasted 2 days. Usually they last 2-3 weeks. We use the falls as a guide. Once they form, the peak flows will occur on the Chama River about 7-10 days later. So there is a narrow window of time to which to view the falls. We happened to time it right, so we got to see it in all of its glory.

On a totally unrelated note, I went to the card store during lunch to get mom a Mothers Day card. The selection was pretty thin. All of a sudden I spied a card that said, "From your furry friend" It was a Mothers Day card from a dog! So I bought that one and wrote that Anubis demanded I buy it for her. I also teased her that it could also be from her furry son, even though she doesn't like the whole concept of furry. So the card is in the mail. I can't wait to hear the response.
