I spent an hour or so weeding the front yard around the new fruit trees. The only tree that hasn't done anything yet is the fig. I'm assuming it will need warmer temps. The other 6 trees had all started to leaf out including the apples and cherry. They didn't bloom, so it looks like no fruit from those this year (unless the apples flower after they leaf). At first I said that the apricot had peaked in terms of flowering. Then I said it was only half done. Now I'll go back and say that it had peaked when I first said. I gave up hope for fruit since the flowers only lasted for just over a week, but then Kitty noticed little fuzzy green balls forming on a few branches. Baby apricots! We'll see if they survive. Right now the nectarine is in full bloom. It has gorgeous pink flowers. I'll be carefully scanning the peach tree to see if it had a successful pollination.
