Apple Abortion

When I bought the honeycrisp apple tree last year I chose it because it actually already had fruit on it. To me that was a sign that it at least had the ability to produce fruit. The few apples on the tree didn't survive the trip from the nursery and the transplanting process. Oh well. Wait until next year. So I was happy when the tree produced 3 apples this year. Yay! At least we'll finally get something. Alas, it was not to be. We had some pretty severe winds yesterday from a nearby collapsing thunderstorm. The winds were violent enough to have blown the 3 baby apples off the tree. *sigh* Oh well. We'll try again next year.

The thunderstorms we got yesterday were good news/bad news. The bad news was that we hardly got any rain at the house. The good news was that I was on walkies when the storms rolled it. I got sprinkled on, but all around me were walls of black clouds. The far east end of town got almost 2". My sidewalks barely got wet. Such is the nature of the monsoon.
