In my recent updates about shows I have been discovering as of late, I have kept forgetting to mention a show recommended by dexter_fox a few months ago. It's "Travelers" which is found on Netflix. My summary was "Quantum Leap" meets "The Umbrella Academy." Folks come back from the future, occupy bodies of people who would have died anyway, and try to gently nudge the Earth's timeline so that future calamities don't occur. So far the show has been very effective. We're both enjoying it, and it provides a nice default when we're not sure what we want to watch. One thing that was very interesting is that one plotline involved a pandemic that was sent from the future. There were lots of masks being worn, stores with empty shelves, overcrowded hospitals, etc. Let's just say it looked scarily familiar. The only thing was that the show was made in 2017. This is similar to what I wrote about a few months ago when I re-watched "Contagion." It seems like the pathways through a pandemic are fairly well known. Of course Trump took the playbook and tossed it in the bin. Asimov already wrote about how human history can be plotted out using mathematics and psychology. BTW...I just saw that someone finally had the balls to produce "Foundation." We shall see how it turns out, but since it's going to be made for AppleTV, it will be awhile before I will see it (if ever).
