Yesterday I was watering the garden and noticed that the leaves had been stripped from a significant part of one of my tomato plants. Fortunately the plant was less than 2' tall, so it only took a couple of seconds to find the culprit. It was my old nemesis the hornworm. It was a nice fat one, fully stuffed with leaves it had just devoured. I dispatched him in my favorite sadistic way. He ended up as a nice green splat on the wall. I also found his friend who wound up in an old Monty Python sketch where you defend yourself from an attack by fresh fruit by dropping a 16 ton weight on your attacker. We'll see how the garden/trees react to our weather. It's supposed to be over 100 over the next 5 days. What is this?!? Yuma?!?
