"Opera" - I can't really describe it. We were both kinda like "Uhhhh. What was that?!?" I see it has some buzz, so it might be the winner. As for me...no thanks. I didn't even bother posting the trailer since it's totally lame and says nothing about the film.
"Yes, People" - Totally forgettable little film about life in Iceland (but nice animation).
"If Anything Happens, I Love You" - Extremely depressing film of our times as a couple grow increasingly apart. You later discover their child was killed in a school shooting with the title being the last thing the little girl texts to her parents.
"Genius Loci" - Another one where Kitty and I looked at one another and went, "What the fuck was that?!?"
"Burrow" - Winner of the "Furry Points Award" but probably not the Oscar. Cute little tale of a bunny trying to build its ideal home. It's from Pixar so you know the quality is spot on. It looks like another battle between independent film vs studio giant (although I read that the guy who did "Opera" learned his stuff at Pixar).
Honorable Mentions: Since the animated shorts are usually really short, they always tack on a few extras.
"The Snail and the Whale" - Cute little story of a snail that wants to see the world and the whale that takes him on his quest.
"Kapaumahu" - A Hawaiian folk tale told in native Hawaiian. Oooo! Woke points!
"To:Gerard" - Nice little film about an old man who dreamed of being a magician but never did, but he passes on that dream to a little girl.
